Skills that outlast the placement
Independence & life skills development
Independence is learned, not granted on a birthday. We build a personalised skills plan with each young person and work through it in the everyday moments of running a home.
Discuss a referralA skills plan that is actually used
Every young person has a living skills plan covering cooking, budgeting, health appointments, travel, digital safety and tenancy readiness. Progress is reviewed monthly and shared with social workers.
Supported practice, not demonstration
Staff cook, budget and travel alongside young people, then step back. Expectations increase as confidence grows, so the final months of a placement feel like preparation rather than a cliff edge.
Money and wellbeing
We support young people to open accounts, manage benefits or wages, and understand debt risk, plus access GP, mental health and substance-use services where needed.
What this includes
- Personalised independence skills plan
- Weekly cooking, budgeting and household sessions
- Support to access health and wellbeing services
- Monthly progress summary shared with the placing authority
Every young person is different
Support hours, staffing and expectations are set around the individual, then reviewed with the placing authority rather than assumed.
