The right placement, first time
Placement stability through safe matching
Placement breakdown is rarely about the building. It is usually about a mismatch between what a young person needs and what the setting can offer. We match deliberately, and we say so when a referral is not the right fit.
Discuss a referralMatching before moving day
Our Referrals Team reviews presenting needs, risk history, cultural and language considerations, education status and the young person's own hopes before any placement is agreed. Where a property, staffing model or peer group is not suitable, we will tell you rather than fill a bed.
Settling in with a plan
The first six weeks follow a structured settling-in plan with weekly review. Support hours step up where needed, then reduce as routines and trust build.
Escalation, not drift
Early warning signs are recorded and acted on. Where additional support, a strategy meeting or a placement review is needed, we request it in writing rather than waiting for a crisis.
What this includes
- Pre-admission suitability assessment for every referral
- Peer-group and cultural compatibility considered
- Weekly placement reviews during the settling-in period
- Clear, written escalation routes for emerging concerns
Every young person is different
Support hours, staffing and expectations are set around the individual, then reviewed with the placing authority rather than assumed.
